Mr. Gabriel Gwelakaju
The cruel, cold, and unmerciful hands of death took Gabriel Gwelakaju, Journalist, and prominent member of the Liberian media, away on Sunday, January 2, 2011. Gabriel died after several months in coma as a result of a tragic motor accident that occurred on June 19, 2010
The deceased worked in the Press and Public Affairs Department of the Liberia National Police prior to the war. He joined the government-owned Liberia Broadcasting System in 1990 during the tenure of Dr. Amos Sawyer's Interim Government of National Unity. He later resettled in the United States where he joined other exiled Liberian journalists to establish the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas. He and other journalists also established Running Africa, an online media entity dedicated to informing the world about political, social, and economic developments shapping the destiny of Liberia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem First United Methodist Church,709 Christmas Avenue, GA 30620
INTERMENT:
Interment is at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, 5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, GA 30518.
