Rev. Thomas G. Sampson Sr.


The Sampson, Simmons, Martin and Johns' families announce the home-going of Rev. Thomas G. Sampson Sr., Superintendent Emeritus of the Assembly of God Missions in Liberia.

This sad event occcurred on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 8:12 am in the home of his son-in-law and daughter Dr. Bashiel & Mrs. Maryann Sampson-smith, in Sunbury, Ohio USA. Wake -keeping and burial will take place on July 29 and 30th in Chicago, Illinois USA.

From 1952 he was pastor and teacher in the Assembly of God missions. In 1972 he became the first native Liberian Superintendent, Assembly of God Missions in Liberia, West Africa.

The late Rev. Thomas G. Sampson is survived by three children: Daisy Martin (Samuel B. Martin - deceased), Maryann Sampson-Smith (Bashiel Henrique Smith) and Thomas G. sampson, II (Fay ). Three sisters, Nellie Sampson, Diana Sampson and Mabel Blackmon. 14 grand children, 18 great grand children, 1 great-great grand child, several nephews, nieces, counsins and a host of other relatives. His wife Mrs. Emma Sampson predeceased him.

This announcement was brought in by Mrs. Etta Simmons, niece of the deceased, on behalf of the family.
